WHO

We Are

We are one of the many fun chapters of the North American Family Campers Association.  With only 9 families currently active, we may be small in number, but we are all very proud members and volunteers of a great organization - NAFCA!

WHAT
We Do

We enjoy attending rallies and campouts throughout the camping season.  In the winter, we have scheduled meetings on the third Sunday of the months November thru March at the Flint Memorial Library Activity Room,  147 Park Street, North Reading, MA  01864

WHERE

We Do It

Most of us are from the North Reading, Massachusetts area, while some live in Western Mass. and Southeastern New Hampshire.

WHEN

We Do It

We have a fund raiser every year at the Massachusetts Fall Frolic selling homemade baked apple goods and such.

WHY

We Do It

We really do enjoy camping with fellow members and all the families of NAFCA.  It’s all about the camaraderie……

And having F-U-N!

A Little Piece On Our Patch

Not many people realize how much thought goes into the design of a simple small patch that will represent a group or organization.  Just as the stars and stripes of our nation’s flag represent the history of our country, images on the patch symbolizing the Canvasback Group of NAFCA depict their all-important devotion to 'togetherness in the outdoors'.

For their first official patch, when the Canvasback Chapter formed in April of 1975, the members drew a scene in brown and white of a duck surrounded by marshland, and included nearby canvas-sided tents and tent-trailers.

It wasn't long before some members felt the patch should be more colorful; so, a contest was held, and entries were considered.  The winning design added mountains and birds representing the outdoors; a campfire indicating the fellowship or togetherness of the members; and of course the tents remained to show what CANVASBACK  #157 is all about - Camping!
